Midsize: One option is to get a smaller table – you’ll get used to it quickly, the game is just as intense and you get a quality table for a great price.
Full-size: Large table with a decent surface – on the other hand the build quality is lower and assembly takes a long time.
The full-size tables we recommend for beginners or family play cost about $400 – and they offer a quality and sturdy construction, quick assembly (10-20 minutes), solid playing capabilities and they are also very easy to fold, move around and store.
But what if your budget is limited, is there still a possibility to get a decent cheap ping pong table under $200?
Fortunately, there is. As we have written above, one option is to settle for a smaller, midsize table – the top is the same as on those $400 tables, it’s just smaller and inexpensive.
Of course, you would miss the back of the table if you play on a full-size regularly but people get used to it pretty quickly. And on the other hand it fits in every room, doesn’t require any assembly and storage is also a breeze.
And the second option is getting a cheaper full-size table. Here you’ll enjoy the large board but to achieve the lower price, compromises have to be made.
The MD Sports table we present here at least offers a decent board, there are tables with a much worse bounce at this price range. However, the build quality isn’t that great and instead of 15 minutes, the assembly can take 3 hours.
