The STIGA XTR Outdoor is a quality ping pong table designed for outdoor use. It is well-made, durable, rain or sunshine is not a problem and for a recreational family play it’s more than sufficient.
Pros:
- Well made, sturdy, easy to assemble
- Durable, rust-free, resistant to sun damage
- Easy to fold, move or store
Cons:
- some users received a slightly scratched table
Key specifications:
- Type: Outdoor, 2-piece
- Thickness: 6mm

Very Easy to Put Together
Like other tables we recommended, also the Stiga XTR Outdoor is fairly heavy, but super easy to assemble – according to users’ experience it takes about 10-30 minutes.
As the name implies, it’s meant to be used as an outdoor table, in your backyard, on a patio and so on. Many people also like to use it inside during winter and move it outside when the temperature and weather enables it.
The entire construction is well-made, sturdy and durable, no flimsy parts.
Thin Aluminum Top
To enable all-weather performance, there cannot be a wooden board of course – instead, a 6mm aluminum composite top is used.
And users report it holds up very well, rain or sunshine isn’t a problem at all and there is no warping caused by heat or humidity. Also, most people use a table cover to add another level of protection.
You may wonder how does the thin metal top fare against those much thicker indoor tables. Well, don’t expect a tournament grade table of course, it plays differently than a wooden table and the sound is also different.
But for recreational family use it’s perfect, you’ll get used to the difference quickly and the bounce is pretty solid when you take into account you’re playing on metal.
And considering the visual aspect, the Stiga Outdoor is just beautiful, the bright marine blue top shines nicely, maybe even too much – the gloss finish can create a substantial glare from the sun.
The net is nice and taught, doesn’t sag and is easy to install or take off.
Easy to Store and Move Around
Like most popular tables it uses the 2-piece design. Folding the halves and moving them around is extremely simple so you can easily move it away whenever you need the space for another activity.
Storage is a breeze as well as the two parts nest together and require very little space – and you can also enjoy the playback mode for a single practice.
The rubber bottom of each leg can be adjusted so the table sits well even on a slightly uneven terrain, you just lock the wheels and join the two halves using tightening clamps (which also hold the net).
Negatives
The only issue that kept repeating throughout the reviews was receiving a slightly damaged piece. Don’t get us wrong, it was just a few scratches or a small dent – nothing terrible that would affect the game. Most users were really satisfied with the packaging – for example reinforced corner protection etc.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a quality outdoor table tennis table for a recreational play, the STIGA XTR Outdoor would be a great option. It’s sturdy, resistant to sun, rain or humidity, easy to manipulate and the aluminum top offers a solid playability. We can definitely recommend it to you.
